I had heard that he was a little weird, but I figured he was pretty harmless and talked him him for a week or two. I had a guy that flirted with me a bit in an online game. It's not so much that I'm afraid of hurting feelings: I'm afraid of the reactions of people who have had their feelings hurt. My fear comes from people that legitimately act like they are insane or just can't take a hint. I've certainly been ghosted as well and I know it doesn't feel good. There's a lot of inference in the short bit of advice and it certainly doesn't boil down to "get over it." The point is, don't be a dick about it, that's covered in "if it doesn't work" because it implies being good about it can cause for further communication on her terms later.Īnd the last, but combining it with the previous, "if it doesn't work, move on." Which means if being a good person didn't work in showing her what she's missing by letting her actually miss some who didn't react poorly, don't get pissed now and lash out, just move on with your life. Maybe something came up, maybe they had something bigger to deal with, maybe they need time to think about what they want. Sometimes just being a good person and letting a person have their space they'll come around a couple weeks later. That says when you get rejected, don't lash out, don't be an asshole, don't make demands because it's not going to do anyone any good. The second key bit is the "just be a good person" part, because so many people, when hurt, will demand an answer to try get a reason worthy of being rejected. That's the big lesson, that's how you get through it, you have to understand people don't always react how you want, and you certainly can't control feelings just because something was good for you. The advice isn't just "get over it" unless you missed first line, which is "that you can't control what a woman is going to feel". There's actually three separate bits of advice within. Dealing with hurt is just reconciling those feelings to logic, essentially.
